The "general work" project

In order for an organisation to receive donations, it is necessary to tie these to a project. Therefore, when creating a charity account with BetterNow, one project is automatically created, namely the XXX's General Work. This project is originally not earmarked and the donations created under it will therefore benefit the whole organisation, wherever needed the most, if you don't choose change the project.

The description of the General Work project will automatically be copied from the description of the organisation when it is created. But you can choose to change the text by editing the project.

If you wish to earmark projects, we recommend you to create a new project where you specify how the money received under this project will be spent. Some charities, however, choose to change the name and text of the general project and  make it more specific- it's a judgement call.
